Ken Age: 57 Cancer Victim In June of 1997 Ken’s sister Sue succumbed to colon cancer. She was 42 at the time. Upon being diagnosed, the doctors said that her cancer was malignant and she was terminally ill. Her oncologist at the time, told her that she needed to rapidly get her affairs in order since she had a very aggressive form of it. Leaving the doctor’s office, she turned to her brother Paul and said, “They just don’t know who they are talking to”. To say she was courageous, is a minor understatement. Her brother says that she was the bravest person he has ever known and that she was kind, gentle and caring. From the time that she was diagnosed to her death it was less than three months. She left behind a 15 year old daughter and a family that still carries her in their hearts. Cancer changed Ken. After Sue died, he stopped taking life for granted and realized it was very precious and finite.
